Networked computers with backup

Client
The Phoenix Youth Centre provides a range of activities and events for about 1000 young people, including volunteering opportunities and the chance to get involved with a range of community projects.
The challenge
The charity's computers could not share files and they also lacked backup, which meant they had no protection against a failure.
Our help
iT4Communities volunteer Viv Mair, asked her company (DHL) to donate the server to network the Phoenix Youth Centre's computers. She also joined in other aspects of the charity's work and gave IT careers advice to its young members.
Currently, Viv gives the Phoenix Youth Centre support on an ongoing basis.
The results

- Efficient computers and IT support worth £500
What our client said
I was really pleased by how well organised IT4Communites was, we got a response quickly with someone phoning back to ask more questions within a couple of days... It would have cost us a lot of money if we had had to pay a private company for the time and expertise she has given us. It has been an absolute joy to meet Viv and it's wonderful that she wants to help us in the future.
